Signe Vad’s exhibition at Martin Bryder Gallery will consist of the photographic works Placenta and a video work There Are No More Dolls In The Closet Only A Respirator.
This is the second time Vad exhibit in the gallery, also this time the theme is concerning human and the animal base-material –the flesh. Photographs of placenta tissue and the 16 min. video work -a sci-fi lecture, a voice from a distant future that examines our relationship with body and flesh. Together, it becomes a tale of the estranged body of contemporary life, the flesh images attract and repel, intimidate our senses; The video work reaches out to connect the viewer with her flesh and blood.
Signe Vad works here with the weird, the erotic and the grotesque as a life-nerve, a poetic dialectic that criticizes alienated inhuman power systems and lifeless structures.

Signe Vads udstilling hos Martin Bryder Gallery, kommer til at bestå af fotografiske værker Placenta og et videoværk There Are No More Dolls In the Closet Only a Respirator.
Det er anden gang SV udstiller i galleriet, også denne gang tager værkerne afsæt i mennesket og dyrets hus –kødet. Fotografier af moderkagevæv og videoen -en sci-fi forelæsning, som bliver en stemme fra en fjern fremtid der undersøger vor tids forhold til krop og kød. Tilsammen bliver det til en fortælling om samtidens fremmedgjorte kropsforhold, kødbillederne tiltrækker og frastøder, pirrer vores sanser; videoværket rækker ud til betragterens for at vække fornemmelsen af eget kød.
Signe Vad arbejder her med det sære, det erotiske og det groteske som en livsnerve, en poetisk dialektik der kritiserer besynderlige menneskefjendske magtsystemer og livsfattige strukturer.
